The Gluten Free Allergen Friendly Expo was a blast!
Seeing as this was my first Expo I wasn’t really sure what to expect. But, from the second I walked into the door (early for once) I felt safety was the first priority. BFree a brand I had never tried before put out a wonderful breakfast. Equipped with everything bagels that are free of the top 8 allergens including sesame seeds! You have no idea how excited I was to be eating a bagel for the first time in a year! And let me tell you it was worth the carbs because it was delicious! Not only did they toast the bagel, offer coffee with soy milk, but they offered vegan butter and cream cheese as well.
People starting filing in the doors right at 10 am when the Expo started. Almost every booth had a line, and it felt amazing to be in a room filled with people who are afflicted by the same or similar allergies as me but also loved ones accompanying them.
Enjoy life let me make a wish on their wishing tree and of course, I wished for Enjoy Life ice cream to be in my future. But, shhh don’t tell anyone I want my wish to come true!
The wait in line to walk through Enjoy Life’s Candy Land style set up was worth it! I got to walk through the Sweet & Salty Sea, the Chocolate River, and Freedom Mountain. Through out my journey, I was able to grab some treats Enjoy Life placed along the walk such as a snack pack of their allergen free chocolate chips, a bag of Plentil chips, and a bag of chocolate chip cookies. The chocolate chips and the cookie are a staple in my life already. But, this was my first time trying the Plentil chips and let me tell you they are so good! I can’t seem to find them at a store near me and am now waiting as patiently as I can for them to get here since I have ordered them off Amazon.
So, not only did I find new products from the brands I love, such as Glutino, SunButter, Minute Rice, Ronzoni, Wowbutter, Daiya, and of course Enjoy Life. But, I also got to try so many new brands such as BFree, Veggie Fries, The Greater Knead, Still Riding Pizza, Superseeds by Kathie’s Kitchen, and Home Free.
Not to leave out a ton of other brands that were at the expo, they were all so great. But, the other brands attending were just gluten free and not allergen free. However, each station was given a sign with check boxes for each allergen their food contained. Some stations were completely allergen free and other stations might have one product containing milk while the other products did not.
For anyone looking to attend an event where you find some great brands, receive free products to try, and tons of coupons to save on your first purchase then this is the Expo for you. As I mentioned this was my first Expo and I wasn’t sure what to expect but finding great new brands and remembering why I love the same brands I use every day is a great feeling.
Also there are a few giveaways happening throughout the event with different brands, which is a ton of fun!
Thanks so much for having me Gluten Free Allergen Friendly Expo, and to all the sponsors for making it possible!
