Just a girl allergic to everything sharing her day to day life: the products I’ve found that work for me, some things I love, and restaurants that try not to kill me

Loma Shampoo & Conditioner Review

Loma Shampoo & Conditioner Review

Right now Loma is one of the only product brands I am using in my hair.

Of course I must say I would have never heard about their amazing products if it was not for Kim, my hairdresser from Bella Capelli in Old Saybrook, CT. Thankfully, Kim sells the products in her salon, and she keeps doing my hair even though I am constantly changing it back and forth from light to dark (and I’m back to light again).

Some Loma products do contain Coconut derived ingredients.  But, thankfully this is one thing I am not allergic to. Since I just switched my dark locks back to blonde I am now using their new line, Violet Shampoo & Conditioner for blonde babes.

Their products are Gluten, Paraben, Sulfate, and Soy free. They are also Vegan and Cruelty-Free! They give a cute little set of instructions on how to use them on the back of the bottle. Also, they warn against getting it on clothing or it will stain. This is because there is a blue-violet pigment to the shampoo and conditioner themselves. This is supposed to help brighten blonde and grey hair. I have only just started using the new line (I’ve used the original line for some time now), so I will have to give an update on if it helps keep my blonde bright!

They both smell really great! I think they just switched it a up a little because both lines have a similar scent. I have very knotty thick frizzy hair, so anything that will tame the beast is a plus in my book. The shampoo has a Vanilla Bean and Blood Orange scent, while the conditioner has a Lemon and Eucalyptus scent. Both have avocado and lavender oil in them, which is really great for supporting hair growth over time.

Also, prior to allergies I used to have a very dry scalp. I was using Head & Shoulders from time to time when my allergies started. Well the one I was using had Almond oil in the conditioner and caused big bubbles along my forehead. Thankfully, even with dying my hair back and forth this product has helped my dry scalp. Plus it hasn’t caused any eczema to start around my ears or the back of my neck. And if you try this product just keep in mind that a little goes a long way, so you don’t have to dump the whole bottle into your hand.

So if your allergy free, vegan, or just gluten free this is a great and safe shampoo and conditioner to use. Just watch out for the coconut derived ingredients such as:

-Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate

-Sodium cocoyl isethionate

Hope this helps! Comment to share some allergy friendly shampoos and conditioners that you have tried! I’d love to try some new products.
